‘At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.’ Poet Laurence Binyon wrote ‘For the Fallen’ as he sat looking out to sea from a spot between Pentire Point and The Rumps at Polzeath. I’ve been coming here for years and admiring the spectacular sunsets but only discovered this summer that they inspired these famous and beautifully haunting words.
